Memorial

Gina Northup, 46, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at home with her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer on August 22, 2006. Services 3:00 PM Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Bernard Hayes will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Friday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Gina will be sadly missed by her life long best friend and husband Bob, along with her daughter Jenny, sons Shane and Dustin, her mother Nellie Grade and brother James all of Cedar Rapids; sister Nancy Russman and husband Bob of Swisher, brother Ronald Grade and wife Patti of Las Vegas, NV, father-in-law William McDermott of Cedar Rapids, brother-in-law Jerry Northrup and wife Marcey of Cedar Rapids, brother-in-law James Northrup and wife Lisa of Dale, IN, sister-in-law Kimberly Roberts and husband David on Monticello, KY, and brother-in-law Brian Northrup of Cedar Rapids.

Also surviving is her very loving and special granddaughter Kiana along with several nieces and nephews, and special friends Amy, Erin, Wal-Mart co-workers, and the many friends at ADM.

She was preceded in death by her father Wayne Grade, and mother-in-law Fern.

Gina S. Northrup was born September 25, 1959 in Cedar Rapids Iowa to Wayne and Nellie Grade. She married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Northrup on May 14, 1980. Throughout the years Gina was employed with Jim's Foods, Randall's, and the past 7 years at Wal-Mart West in the meat department.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed a good laugh, cooking, decorating her home, spending time with her granddaughter and her family pets.

Gina will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ghosh and his staff, along with St. Luke's Hospice, special nurse Julie, and the 5 Center nurses at St. Luke's Hospital.

A memorial fund has been established.
