Mary E. Keating Newland, 98, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, died there Monday, August 21, 2006, following a long illness. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM Wednesday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Rev. Steven Rosonke will officiate. A Wake service will begin at 5 PM on Tuesday with visitation following until 7:30 PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Thursday at the Kufahl Funeral Home in Wheaton, Kansas. Graveside services will be at 11 AM Thursday in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Lillis, Kansas.
Survivors include her children, Bernard Keating and wife Dee of Cedar Rapids, Irene Leiszler of Garden Plain, Kansas, James Keating and wife Margaret of Faribault, Minnesota, and Patrick Keating and wife Mary Ann of Otterville, Missouri. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands James H. Keating in 1983, and Guy Newland in 2002.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
