Bernice Boesenberg Olson, 56, of 1804 Lake Manor Rd NE, Solon, died August 10, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following an aneurysm. Funeral Service: 3 PM Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jonathan Offt and Rev. Parker Knoll. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 PM at Turner West Funeral Home and after 2 PM Monday at the church. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include husband Guy V. Olson, her mother and step-father Irene Noel Siems of Middle Amana, sister Barbara Peden and husband Larry, brother Wayne Boesenberg and wife Gail, brother Gary Boesenberg and wife Jane all of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Henry W. Boesenberg, Jr.

Bernice Irene Boesenberg Olson was born December 23, 1949 the beloved daughter of Henry and Irene Mumm Boesenberg Jr. She married Guy Van Olson on October 16, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She was an avid volunteer, a major blood donor, donating over 14 gallons during her lifetime. She enjoyed trapshooting, fishing, and greatly enjoyed her wood-burning fireplace in her home with Guy. One of the most important things in her life was being the cheerleader, coach, photographer, and timekeeper for her husband Guy, brother Gary and sister in law Jane during their competing in Triathlons. Bernice was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in honor on Bernice.
