Mildred K. "Millie" Arnold, 88, of Northbrook Manor died there on Sat. July 22, 2006 after a lingering illness. Services at 11 AM on Wednesday at Sharon United Methodist Church. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday. The casket will be closed at the Church on Wednesday.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Nelson of Cedar Rapids and Linda Koss and her husband, Jim, of Solon. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Dana Havel, Amy Pelton, Heather Swenson, Tiffany and Dustin Koss, Jody Miller, Jamie Smith, Linda Bourgeois, Janet Cavanah, Susan Tremblay, Jim Koss Jr., and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Jon, and two brothers, James and Willis Knight.
Millie was born on Jan 15, 1918 in Central City, the daughter of Claude and Eva Taylor Knight. She married John J. Arnold on Sept. 25, 1937 in Ryan. He died in 1974. Mildred was a homemaker and retired from Enzlers after 8 years of service. She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church, St. Lukes Auxiliary and the Sharon Church Quilters. Millie was a skilled seamstress and quilter. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers and especially time spent with her friends and beloved family. Memorial donations may be given to Sharon United Methodist Church or Hospice of Mercy in Millie's name.
