** Wilda J. Ihde, 79, of Heritage Nursing and Rehab died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006 after a long illness. Services at 1 PM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday and at the Chapel after Noon on Friday.
Survivors include three sons, Larry and his wife, Tammy of Cedar Rapids, David of Steamboat Springs, CO., and Doug of Cedar Rapids, two daughters, Elizabeth Ihde of Honolulu, Hawaii and Regan Ihde and her husband Michael of Buffalo, NY. She is also survived by six grandchildren and many special friends.
Wilda was born on Nov. 14, 1926 in Paterson NJ., the daughter of Wilfred and Joann Brownlee Rigby. During the war effort of WWII she proudly worked at Curtis-Wright Aircraft. She married Stanley W. Ihde on June 9, 1951 in Paterson, NJ. He died in 1987. Wilda had been a clerk at Mercy Medical Center, she later worked at the Longbranch and most recently was a realtor. She was member of the Linn County Democratic Party, Beyond Rubies, the League of Women Voters and Women Unlimited. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, the Cedar Rapids Symphony, and gardening. Wilda was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and many friends. Memorial donations may be given for research for stroke victims in Wilda's name.
