Karlene Adele Robertson, 84, of Middle Amana, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Pinicon Senior Living in Anamosa, Iowa.  A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., with sharing of memories beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Karlene was born on June 16, 1942, to Jack and Ruth (Arthur) Mercer in Fort Madison, Iowa.  She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Robertson, Sr. on December 3, 1967.  She was a proud military wife who spent her life supporting her family and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories. Family was always at the center of her world, and she found her greatest happiness in the time she spent with those she loved.

She enjoyed geocaching, crafting, crossword puzzles, and singing. Karlene especially loved spending time with her family, making lasting memories while traveling with her grandchildren and attending their many activities and events.

Karlene’s playful personality, youthful heart, and love for her family made her someone who brought a special kind of joy to those around her. She had a way of reminding everyone life was meant to be enjoyed, laughter was important, and that the little things often meant the most.

Karlene is survived by her three children, Kimberly (Shawn) Gallardo of Santa Cruz, California; Barb (Chris) Wilson of Anamosa; and Rob (Kristy) Robertson of Anamosa; eight grandchildren, Amanda Williams, Alexis Freitas, Jared Gallardo, Jordan (Elise) Wilson, Evan Wilson, Jenna Wilson, Ruby Robertson, and Simon Robertson; and five great-grandchildren, Violet and Penelope Williams, Reese and Hank Freitas, and Parker Wilson. She is also survived by her siblings, Mike (Carol Ann) Mercer, Sharon Fisher, and Karen Rockhold; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving extended family members.

Karlene was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Robertson, Sr.; and her brother, John Mercer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family which will be used toward the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
