Memorial

Geraldine J. Walder passed away on October 31, 2026, in Cedar Rapids. Visitation Monday, November 9, 2026, from 9:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids.  Interment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born on August 9, 1930, in Hinsdale, IL to Nicholas and Christine Krantz.  Geraldine loved gardening, decorating, socializing with friends, wintering in Golf Shores, Alabama, and loved to travel.  Gerre loved to spend time with her family and was loved by all.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Vicki (Rich) Lyle, Paul (Tracy) Walder, Laura (Tom) Anderer, and Sandie (Denny) Ketelsen; grandchildren, Scott (Suzy) Hop, Jeffrey Ketelsen, Abby (Chris) Huxley, Rachel (Juan) Rivera, Stephen Anderer and Danielle (Darin) McKibben; great-grandmother of six; great-great grandmother of one; step-children, Jane (Rye) Clark, Linda (Ed) Mercado and Ann (Jon) Bell.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ronald Walder; son, Jeff Walder; granddaughter, Jennifer Faas; and second husband Eldon Mackert; two-stepchildren, Doug Mackert and Susan Doctor.
