Memorial
Edward Brian Hoffman passed away on October 3, 2026, in Hiawatha. Visitation 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Cedar Memorial Park Stateroom in Cedar Rapids. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
He was born on December 10, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, IA to Joseph and Anna (Mally) Hoffman. Ed worked in various positions for Midland Forge in Cedar Rapids for over 28 years, before retiring in 2006. He was a member of International Association of Machinists Union Local #831. Edward loved antiquing and took many day trips to Wisconsin with his family; enjoyed going to arboretums with Roberta, loved helping family anytime he could, and was a jokester with family and friends. He loved to spend time with his family and loved making friends with anyone he could stop and visit.
Edward is survived by his wife of 60 years, Roberta (Holland); children, Susan (the late Steve) Livermore; James Hoffman and John (Wendy) Hoffman; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one niece and five nephews; three great-nieces and four great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Frank Hoffman and Loretta (Ron) Higham; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law and two nieces and his beloved four pawed friend “Banjo”.
Edward’s care was given to him by the best care staff ever at the Hiawatha Care Center, and his extended family at the Hiawatha Care Center was very dear to him.
Memorial contributions may be given in Ed’s Memory to the Hiawatha Care Center for the wonderful-loving care that he received while there.
