Robert Siechert, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM, at the chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Robert was born May 29, 1935, the son of Edgar and Helen (Schultz) Siechert. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids with the Class of 1953. On June 10, 1961, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Bozanek in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Robert was employed at Rockwell Collins, where he worked for 38 years before retiring in 1991.
Robert enjoyed camping, traveling, building models, cooking, making wine, helping others, and watching westerns and WWII documentaries. Above all, he cherished time with his family. Robert’s legacy of love, generosity, kindness, and humor will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn Siechert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three daughters, Robyn Woodard of Whitten, Iowa; Rebecca (James) Cunningham of Matthews, North Carolina; and Rachelle Siechert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren, Robert Woodard, Dustin (Kristin) Woodard, Brandon Cunningham, and Dalton (Katelyn) Cunningham; seven great-grandchildren with one on the way; as well as many loving extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David Siechert; his niece, Lori Richardson; a son-in-law, Larry Woodard; and a very good friend, Ray Burke.
Robert was always there when you needed him, offering encouraging words and a listening ear to all who knew and loved him.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff and nurses at Mercy Hospice for the gentle care, kindness, and compassion shown to Robert and his family.
