Marjorie Ann Daft, 94, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Hiawatha Care Center. A private family graveside service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marjorie was born on March 2, 1932, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of George and Della (Gray) Kelley. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1949 and then attended Iowa State University.  Marjorie graduated from Coe College in 1967 with a teaching certificate and Bachelor of Arts degree in English.  She taught at Kenwood Elementary School for 25 years.

Marjorie was united in marriage to Walter L. Daft on December 23, 1950, at Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

Marjorie was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church (where she served as a Deacon), Cedar Rapids Retired School Personnel and PEO Chapter DK. Marjorie enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards with friends (especially bridge) and she was an avid reader.

Marjorie is survived by her children: Michael Daft of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Thomas (Patti) Daft of Clive, Iowa; Judith (Jon) Studt of Springville, Iowa; her grandchildren, Dr. Joseph (Sheila) Daft of Cleveland, Tennessee; Dr. Paul (Jerri) Daft of Vidalia, Georgia; Matthew Studt of Marion, Iowa; Mark (Monique) Studt of Tampa, Florida; Jacob Studt of Boone, Iowa; David Daft of Rochester, Minnesota; Kaleb Daft of Clive, Iowa; and her great grandchildren, Eisley and Rhemi Studt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Emmalynn and Julianne Daft of Cleveland, Tennessee.

She is also survived by two of her siblings, Ruth Chizum of Aurora, Colorado and Katherine (George) Reis of Tigard, Oregon as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Walter Daft; her parents George and Della Kelley; her step-mother Thelma Kelley; her brother and sister-in-law Charles and Dorothy Kelley; her sister and brother-in-law Mary Lou and Doug Wiley and her daughter-in-law Janice Daft.
