Departed on May 31, 2026

Memorial

Jo Ann “JoJo” Dunlop, Age 91.

JoJo left this ball field on May 31, 2026, and headed to her next ice rink.

JoJo was inducted into the Iowa Hall of Fame for Fast Pitch Softball and Speed Skating, earning numerous awards, medals, and trophies in both sports throughout her remarkable athletic career. Because of her outstanding pitching ability, she became the first woman to pitch on a men’s team-a true testament to her skill, determination, and love of the game.

Jojo worked at Rockwell Collins for over 30 years. She was a very kind and caring person with a loving heart, who loved all sports, woodworking, gardening, weeding, animals, and spending time in nature.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. She leaves behind several dear friends who loved her deeply.

A very special thanks to the staffs at Summit Pointe in Marion, IA, St. Luke’s Hospital, and Traditions Memory Care in Newton, IA for all the love, care, and compassion they showed JoJo while she was in their care

No services will be held. There was a Celebration of Life for her on her 90th birthday where she could join in and be a part of it.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Animal Welfare Friends, 22407 Business US-151 Monticello, IA 52310.
