Elenora Ann (Knudson) Pfeifle, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Elenora is survived by her children, Kelly (Craig) Eells and Kevin (Kristyn Kallas) Pfeifle. She was blessed with five grandchildren—Matt (Salma) Terpstra, Elizabeth (Matt) Kallas, Max Pfeifle, Parker Eells, and Madison Pfeifle—as well as her great-grandson Carson Kallas, with another Kallas great-grandson on the way. She is also survived by her sister- in-laws: Audrey, Ruthie, Carol, and Norene, along with many nieces and nephews.

Awaiting her in heaven is a joyful gathering of loved ones who preceded her in death: her husband of 62 years, Elmer Pfeifle; her daughter Tammy Terpstra; her son-n-law Ray Terpstra; her parents Henry and Elen Knudson; and her brothers Arnold, Kenneth, Benard, Willard, Edward, Vernon, Marvin, and Larry. Also greeting her are her sisters-in-law Margaret, Louise, Barbara, and Debbie.

Elenora was born on December 11, 1938, to Henry and Elen (Mathiason) Knudson in St. John, North Dakota, the only daughter among eight brothers. She married the love of her life, Elmer Pfeifle, on October 26, 1958, in Perth, North Dakota. Together they built a beautiful life and raised their three children—Tammy, Kelly, and Kevin—in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A dedicated employee of Sears, Elenora was known for her strong work ethic and warm spirit. Her Christian faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was a devoted member of First Lutheran Church for more than 53 years, where she participated in Comfort Makers, a ministry that created quilts for those in need. Sharing her time and talents to comfort others brought her deep joy. Elenora cherished time with her family above all else. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandson, celebrating every milestone and moment with them. Her hobbies reflected her creativity and love of beauty—quilting, sewing, mandala rock painting, crafting small wooden projects, and tending to her vibrant flower gardens.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at First Lutheran Church, 1000 3rd Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will take place from 9:30–11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the exceptional teams at Meth-Wick Manor and Mercy Hospice for their compassionate care.
