Helen Jeanne (Evans) Krieg, 94, passed away March 15, 2026 surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a future date.
Helen is survived by four sons, Allyn Johnston (Angie), Kevin Johnston (Kelly), David Johnston and wife, Sheri, William Johnston., 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, close friends Wanda and Lonnie.
Proceeded in death by her husband Leon, her parents Allyn and Helen, her brother Chris, and a son Stanley.
Born July 15, 1931 in Waterloo, Iowa. A preemie, her parents were told she might not survive. She grew up on the family farm in Williamsburg, Iowa. She graduated from Williamsburg High School and received a four-year bachelor’s degree in teaching from Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri.
In 1954 she married Norman Johnston, and had five boys. They later divorced. On New Year’s Eve 1976 she married Leon Krieg. They moved to Florida where she worked for Cypress Gardens, then Walt Disney World for over 30 years. She enjoyed her job and meeting people from around the country and world, but most of all she loved hosting her children, grandchildren and friends, being the tour guide at Disney. After retiring, she loved to travel and see the world.
The family would like to thank Winslow House and Suncrest Hospice for their compassionate and wonderful care.
