Lynda Lou Korfist, 79, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Lynda is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Norm; her son, John (Cassie) Bohlig of Queen Creek, Arizona; her daughter, Sherri (Heike) Bohlig of New York, New York; her stepson, Christian (Jill) Korfist of Burr Ridge, Illinois; her stepson, Matthew Korfist of Redondo Beach, California; her stepdaughter, Melissa (Thomas) Carnes of Mount Vernon, Iowa; her granddaughters, Aurora Korfist, Samantha Korfist, Ashley Bohlig, and Kallie Carnes; her grandsons, Daniel Korfist, Cole Korfist, Jacob Bohlig, and Jack Carnes; and two brothers and a sister. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leslie Heath, and her parents, Elenore and Robert Heath.

Lynda, the youngest of five children, was born on February 26, 1947, in Elgin, Illinois, to Elenore and Robert Heath. She was a member of the first graduating class of Larkin High School. After graduation, she began her career as a legal secretary for 20 years and later earned her paralegal certification, working as a paralegal secretary for 16 more.

On May 6, 1983, Lynda married the love of her life, Norm. Together they built a wonderful life centered on family, raising their five children and sharing their home with their, at times three, cherished dogs. Many weekends were spent in Bellevue, Iowa, on the Mississippi River, where they enjoyed boating, water skiing, and making lasting memories together.

Lynda was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy came from caring for her family. Her house was always spotless and there was always a wonderful, warm meal on the table.  Whether she was working or at home, she treasured time with her children, grandchildren, and the many dogs she adored throughout her life.

In retirement, Lynda and Norm fulfilled their dream of lakeside living by moving to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where they enjoyed four wonderful years on Lake Hamilton, spending their days boating and golfing. They later relocated to Spring Hill, Florida, seeking a warmer climate, where they continued to enjoy golf, relaxing by the pool, and sharing life with their beloved dogs.  After twenty-two years in Florida, Norm and Lynda headed North to Iowa where they resided for three and a half years until her passing.

Above all else, Lynda's greatest love was her family. Her children, grandchildren, husband, and faithful dogs were the center of her world. She will be remembered for her warmth, devotion, kind heart, and the love she gave so freely to those fortunate enough to know her.

Lynda leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She found joy in life's simple pleasures—time on the water, a round of golf, the companionship of her dogs, and, most importantly, moments spent with those she loved. Her spirit, warm smile, and selfless heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
