Jacqueline Kay Werner, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She has gone to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Radiant Church, 3233 Blairs Ferry Road NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jacki was born on October 23, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Earl and Betty Brown. In 1963, she married Martin Fritz. Together they welcomed three wonderful children: Tammy, Marty, and Mark. Although their marriage was later dissolved, they shared many cherished memories and the joy of raising their family.

She later married Jovon Schultz. During their marriage, Jacki owned and operated a highly successful home daycare, where she lovingly cared for countless children. Caring for children was her special gift, and she had a remarkable ability to make each child feel safe, loved, and valued. In addition to running her daycare, she managed the bookkeeping for Schultz Waste Systems, the family business. In 1993, she graduated from Hamilton Business College. Their marriage was later dissolved.

On June 24, 1994, Jacki married the love of her life, Delmer Werner. They were united in marriage at First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids. Shortly thereafter, Jacki proudly adopted Delmer's son, Dustin Dean, embracing him as her own.

Throughout their marriage, Jacki lovingly helped raise two grandchildren and two grandnephews, always providing a nurturing home filled with love, guidance, and encouragement. She also had a special talent for cleaning and was self-employed as a housekeeper for several years, earning the respect and appreciation of those she served.

Jacki and Delmer shared many wonderful adventures together. They enjoyed taking several cruises and made cherished memories vacationing with their children and grandchildren at their timeshare condos in Branson. She was a devoted and active member of Radiant Church of Cedar Rapids (formerly First Assembly of God), where her faith in Jesus Christ remained the cornerstone of her life.

Jacki is lovingly remembered by her husband, Delmer Werner; her children, Tammy Wurster, J. Marty Fritz (Terrie), and Mark Fritz (Wendy); nine grandchildren, Andrew Rigel, Jill Fritz, Kristen Shook (Eric), Jaime Sullivan, Joellee Ceynar, Mason Fritz (Lacy), Tanner Werner (Rebecca), Kimber Hart (Herschel), and Kingsley Fritz; cherished grandchildren; and 17 beloved great-grandchildren, with two more expected to join the family. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Betty Brown, her beloved son, Dustin "Dusty" Werner, and a granddaughter, Eden Werner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Mercy Hospice in Jacki's memory.
