Judy Kay Fisher, 68, passed tragically alongside her daughter, Jessica Fisher, in a car accident on January 19, 2026. 

Judy was born May 10, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa to John E. and Theresa (Etringer) Vieth. She graduated from Don Bosco High School, in Gilbertville in 1975. She went on to attend Marshalltown Community College where she graduated in 1976 with a Medical Office Assistant Certificate. After graduation she worked various positions until starting at Radiology Consultants of Iowa in 1988. She retired from RCI in 2022, after having worked 34 years as the Coding and Compliance Manager for most of her career. Judy was well known and respected throughout the radiology community.

In 1976 she and Tim Fisher were united in marriage. They had three children and were later divorced. She remained close to Tim and the entire Fisher family, having a special bond with Donna Fisher and Jeanie Fisher.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter,  sister, aunt, and friend. She loved to travel the world with friends and family. She spent her free time making memories with family; biking with friends; and generously volunteering for various organizations. 

Survivors include her daughter, Amy Fisher (Ryan May) of Cedar Rapids; son, Lee Fisher (Lindsey) of Hiawatha; and Tim Fisher (Joe Clark) of Iowa City. Additionally, she is survived by three granddaughters, Madelyn Pyle, Kaylynn Fisher, and Jordynn Fisher; her mother, Theresa Vieth, of Cedar Falls; six siblings, Annette (Duane) Schmit, of Jesup; John J. (Michelle) Vieth, of Gladbrook;  Tony (Joleen) Vieth of Cedar Falls; Rosie Steimel of Cedar Rapids; Janet (Kevin) Weber of Hudson; Suzie (Carl) Corkery of Jesup; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, John E. Vieth; sister, Mary Vieth-Tan and brother in-law, Luke Tan. 

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 29 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom, 4200 1st Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral services will be Friday, January 30 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1790 14th Street, Marion, Iowa. A visitation will be held at the church starting at 9:30. Judy had a caring heart and touched many lives. She will be missed immensely by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
