Jessica Therese Fisher, 45, passed tragically along with her mother, Judy Fisher, in a car accident on January 19, 2026. 

Jessica was born February 22, 1980, in Cresco, Iowa to Tim and Judy Fisher. She graduated from Regis High School in Cedar Rapids in 1998. She went on to attend the University of Iowa where she graduated in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science. After graduation she began a twenty-three-year career with Trustmark in Lake Forest, IL. At the time of her death she was Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. In 2015 she returned to Cedar Rapids to work remotely and be closer to family.

Jessica was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  She enjoyed cheering on the Hawkeyes and attending her nieces’ various activities. Her sense of adventure and passion for travel lead her to take numerous trips with friends and family.  She was also an amazing mom to her beloved rescue dogs Jada, Darci, and Rocky. 

Survivors include her father, Tim Fisher (Joe Clark) of Iowa City; sister, Amy Fisher (Ryan May) of Cedar Rapids; brother, Lee Fisher (Lindsey) of Hiawatha. Additionally, she is survived by three adoring nieces, Madelyn Pyle, Kaylynn Fisher, and Jordynn Fisher; grandmother, Theresa Vieth; 21 aunts and uncles, 42 cousins, and her beloved Darci.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Virgil and Loraine Fisher, and John Vieth; aunts Mary Vieth-Tan, Cheryl Even, and Charlotta Toth-Fisher; uncles Jeff Fisher and Luke Tan; five cousins; and her much loved Jada and Rocky.  

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 29 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom, 4200 1st Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30 at 10:30 AM at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1790 14th Street, Marion, Iowa.  A visitation will be held at the church starting at 9:30 AM.  A live stream of the Church service may be accessed at https://youtube.com/live/_e_mVk9EKsU?feature=share on Friday, January 30.

Jessica will be missed by all who loved her, and she will forever be in our hearts.
