Memorial

Lois Irene Kozich, 86, a resident of the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon, passed away, August 6, 2026. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM, Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Davenport. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 14th at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Lois was born on February 28, 1940, in Nampa, Idaho to Ralph and Wilma Barge. She grew up with one brother and one sister. The family moved to Topeka, Kansas where her father worked for a milk plant and her mother worked sewing couch covers and opened her own sewing business. 

Lois graduated from Topeka High School in 1958. Lois and her friend went to a Drive In one night and they happened to meet a gentleman named Tom and his friend who were stationed at the Air Force base in town. Lois ended up marrying Tom, and their friends were also married! Lois worked at Von Maur for 23 years. Lois and Tom had three wonderful boys, Dennis, Terry, and Larry. She was also blessed with three grandsons and two great granddaughters. Tom passed away in 2004. Lois stayed busy by bowling and joining a square-dancing club that she traveled with when given the chance. Lois enjoyed listening to books on tape, bingo, traveling, time with friends and family, church with grandson Andrew, and activities at her residence.

Survivors include her sons, Dennis (Lisa) of Warrenville, SC. Terry (Kim) of Grapevine, TX, and Larry (Terry) of Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Andrew and Aden Kozich and Jordan (Dorie) Cook; and great granddaughters, Journey and Aubrey Cook. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.   

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Tom in 2004; sister, Doris Henderson; and brother Elmer Barge.
