Memorial

Martin L. “Marty” Ross, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at St Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.  A visitation will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026, 5:00-7:00 pm at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Chapel Stateroom.  Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include sons, Martin (Diana) Collins, of Tripoli, Iowa, Thomas (Candy) Ross, of Shueyville, Iowa, a daughter, Amy (Bob) Wagner, of Fairfax, Iowa.  Grandchildren; Mason, Cassidy, Crystal, Morgan, Zachery, and Jenna, along with several nieces and nephews.   

Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, a grandson, Travis, his parents, brothers, Ronnie, Larry, and Craig, and a son in-law, Matt.  

Martin Lee Ross was born July 23, 1942, in Cedar Rapids to Thomas and Geraldine Ross.  He married Barbara Mathews, on December 7, 1968, they were together for 42 years, until she passed away in 2010.  Marty worked for most of life connected to a bakery, as an owner, manager, or sales associate, baking was one of his passions.  He enjoyed cooking out for family, Sunday dinners, and different games of chance at the casinos, including several trips to Las Vegas. Marty will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
