Celebration of Life for Laura Lou “Tootie” Bolsinger-Jordan
Laura Lou Bolsinger-Jordan (“Tootie”), 73, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026. Born on August 14, 1952, in Elkader, Iowa, Laura lived a life full of compassion, laughter, and deep love for her family.
Laura dedicated her life to caring for others as a lifelong Registered Nurse, touching countless lives through her kindness, strength, and unwavering commitment to healthcare. Even beyond her career, her nurturing spirit was at the heart of everything she did.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted spouse of 43 years, Lori Bena of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her children, Christina Jordan (Donald) of Bettendorf, Iowa, Jonathon Jordan (Mary) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Allison Laughridge (Chris) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Kali Bena (Tyson) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Laura was a proud and adoring grandmother to Dakota, Tavian-Jon, Claire, Abbigail, Colton, Kate, Kaylynne, Quinn, and Gracelynne, and a cherished great-grandmother to Clementine, Elias, and Jonah.
Preceded in Death By: Her mother and father, Stanley "Whitey" Bolsinger and Bonita Nebel; her first-born son, Garry Welch; her sister, 7 Loretta Bolsinger Cook; and her brother Richard, who passed in infancy. Siblings: Lynda Lee, Lorna Lynn, Lana LeAnna, Lisa Louise, Tina Marie, and Lona Leona.
Laura found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved The Wizard of Oz, adored penguins, and treasured time spent crafting with her grandchildren. One of her favorite pastimes was visiting Potters Obsession, where she created lasting memories with those she loved. In retirement, she embraced staying connected—spending time on Facebook sharing thousands of memes with family and friends and enjoying her favorite game shows on TV.
Laura will be remembered for her warm heart, her sense of humor, and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and light to everyone who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 18, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Indian Creek Learning Center Auditorium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In honor of Laura, guests are encouraged to wear bright colors.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and connection will live on in all who knew and loved her.
