Memorial

Juanita Alcaraz, 81, of Pulaski, TN, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service and will begin at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow the service and take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Juanita was born December 4, 1943, in McAllen, TX to Dora Gonzalez and was raised by her stepfather Jose S. Ledesma. She was married to Miguel Alcaraz for over 48 years. They were long-term residents of Cedar Rapids until 2008, when they moved to Tennessee. 

She was very talented cook and made everything from scratch. Juanita enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, and taking care of her plants. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. 

Juanita is survived by her children, Mary McGlashing, Santiago Sanchez, Dora Streicher, Danny Alcaraz, and Elizabeth (Rigo) Garcia; 25 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; siblings, Seferino Gonzalez, Carlos Ledesma, Maria Canales, Alicia Ledesma, and Anita Ledesma-Trevino.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dora and Jose Ledesma; her husband, Miguel Alcaraz; her children, Gloria Wingerson, and Jesus Alcaraz; and her grandson, Steven McGlashing.
