Marleen Fern Boots, 88, of Pella, Iowa, died Saturday, January 18, 2025, at MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. Friday, January 24, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Pastor Vicki Standley officiating, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Robert Boots; siblings, Lila (Keith) Price, Judith (Christopher) Schwab.
Marleen Fern Boots was born November 13, 1936, in Malta, Montana to Henry and Fern (Anderson) Hansen. She moved to Iowa at age two with her family. In sixth grade, she moved to Marion, Iowa. She graduated from Marion High School in 1954. Marleen married Charles Boots on July 8, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Marion. Over the years, Marleen was a telephone operator in Marion, an Avon representative, a Younkers employee, and the owner/operator of Marleen’s Beauty Nook. Marleen enjoyed square dancing club, Wandering Wheels Camping Club, and attending her children and grandchildren’s events. Marleen was a lifelong member of Marion First United Methodist Church.
