Richard (Rick) Danly

Born in Cedar Rapids, IA
Born on Dec 7, 1955
Departed on Feb 25, 2025

I grew up in awe of Rick!! Rick was one of Cedar Rapids greatest athletes!! Rick was always kind to me and I enjoyed going over to his family's home in Time Check. I was scared of Rick at first especially when I asked him if I could talk to his sister Becky (I had a big crush on Becky growing up) he said it was ok!! Rick always had a great smile and I will always remember him-RIP My Friend!!

Joann and family, I am sorry for your loss. Rick was always welcoming and busy doing something. Hugs to you all.

I was very saddened to read of Mr. Danly’s death! I knew him for a long time and always enjoyed seeing him. I so enjoyed reading his obituary; what a man of many talents and such spirit! He was tough and fought for a long time against his physical ailments and challenges. To his family please accept my deepest sympathiy. Dr. John Wollner

I am so sorry to learn of Rick passing. I grew up in the Time Check area and hung out with his sister Becky. Rick was one of nicest young guys around. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I'm saddened to hear about RIck's passing. I went to Kennedy for my sophomore year of high school and played basketball on the soph team with Rick. It can be difficult being the "new" guy at school and it helps having people treat you as a friend. Rick was the guy who helped make my year at Kennedy the best it could be. I remember him as being a nice guy with a great sense of humor. I appreciate the short friendship we had, and I will never forget how he made me feel welcome.

my condolences to the family he was one heck of a guy nicest person grateful to have known worked with you played ball drank a few glad to have known you in this lifetime hope to see you in the next one

Please accept our sincerest condolences. Rick will be deeply missed by many.
