Memorial

Shirley Elaine DeNio, 98, of Rowley, died peacefully surrounded by her family. Private family services will be held at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. The burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Survivors include her children, Cheryl (Roger) Campbell, Lori (Leo) Gaffney, and Robin (Mark) Loomis, her brother, Robert )Betty) Turkington and a sister-in-law, Marion Turkington.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy Edward DeNio, grand daughter, Angela Campbell and son-in-law, Roger Campbell.     

Shirley was born March 22, 1926, the daughter of Carlton and Charlotte (White) Turkington. She married Billy Edward DeNio on October 27, 1946. Shirley and her husband lived in Cedar Rapids till they moved near Rowley in 1953.

Shirley worked as a telephone operator and secretary office staff for FJ Krob in Rowley. She loved to garden, do needle work, avid reader and do all kinds of puzzles. 

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
