Memorial

Nancy was born September 5, 1940, in Cedar Rapids to Herbert and Helen (Daggett) Pearson. She graduated from Washington High School in 1958. She married John Rink Sr. (later divorced). On August 23, 1984, she married Mervin “Butch” Ketchum.

Nancy worked at Wilson Foods and Farmstead. She then earned a degree from Kirkwood College and worked at West Side Unlimited, Quintrex, Ruffalo, and Agilon till retirement as a programmer and main frame operator.

She enjoyed the many years at their Ely acreage, swimming at the pool with their kids and grandkids and tending to plants and flowers. She loved their many Yorkie dogs over the years. She enjoyed camping, shopping, and visiting with friends. She loved traveling and often visited family and friends in Texas, Colorado, Oregon and other places too numerous to name here. Manicures, lottery scratchers, and anything turquoise were at the top of her list. Her chocolate chip cookies, potato salad and lemon bars were the best. She was so proud of her family and loved to hear the latest news about them. She will be dearly missed. Nancy was a member of First Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons: John (Mary) Rink and Daniel (Christi) Rink, both of Cedar Rapids; two stepdaughters: Julie (Dan) Thomson of Stanwood and Diane (Carl) Boeding of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two stepsons: Steven (Tami) Ketchum of Atkins and Mark (Michelle) Ketchum of Arizona; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and their Yorkie, Timmy.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sister Barbara; brother Ronnie; half-brother Jim; a half-sister, Ethel, son Jeffrey Rink. Special thanks go out to the staff at The Views of Marion for their care of Nancy over the past few years.
