Mike was a person of unwavering integrity...and a dear friend to many. We will particularly miss him and all the good he did for Camp Courageous. He always had a fascinating story...or a good joke or prank up his sleeve...which made him a true joy to be around. The world is a better place, because of Mike's service to others. Our sincere sympathy to Nan, Jeff & Kara, along with family and friends....what a beautiful legacy he leaves...

I had many connections to Mike and enjoyed his presence. We were in Rotary together, and he often helped out with school matters when he could. We share the same birthday, so our life path has many similarities.
Mike had a good spirit and understood the idea of service above self. We shared that as fellow Rotarians.
To Nan and his family, I am better because i got to know Mike. I join with you in celebrating his life. He made a positive difference while he was here. Remember him fondly until you see him again.

So many wonderful memories have been rolling through my mind since Friday.
Joint family vacations, holidays, sitting under the security ropes to see the Pope as a young child.
My first dance at my wedding, coming to the hospital for each of the births of my children... even passing your name on within my son's.
Thank you for stepping in as that father figure when my own was on a different path.
Rest in peace Uncle Mike, much love Christina ??

I guessing praying hands do not translate within the condolence, much love was meant without question marks. (insert heart instead)

Mike was indeed a very special man. I served on the Crime Stoppers Board with him for several years. Mike also visited The Survivors of Homicide Victims support group and answered questions for our group which brought comfort and education to many. He will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help if he could. God bless you all as you mourn his loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

MMy sincere codolences to the Marlin family. You lost a great guy and the citizens of this state lost a very competent hard-working public servant. I worked with Mike on several cases and through my assignment to SE Iowa got to know the Marlin brothers. He is gone but not forgotten to his family , friends and colleagues. R.I.P.
