Tom & Bill,
I am so sorry for your loss. I’m so grateful for the time I shared with Donna & JJ during my childhood and teen years. Thank you for trusting me and gracing me with JJ.
My life is better because your family has been part of it.
With great love and appreciation,

Tom and Bill - I am heartsick with the sorrow both of you have with such a wonderful wife and mother passing. I knew Donna through my wife, Danna, who was the longtime hairstylist for Donna and JJ. Danna absolutely loved these two women. Donna was a comfort to me when Danna passed 5 years ago and I am grateful for that.

Tom and Bill, We are so sorry to hear about Donna passing. Seems like only yesterday we were visiting over the hedge in our backyards in Bowman Woods. We can still remember Donna calling us and sharing a funny story about Chris and Pat stopping by your house to sell Scout cookies. We truly believe Donne in in a wonderful place now looking down at us all.

Tom - I was very saddened to hear about Donna’s death. I wish you my sincerest condolences and the hope that you will give yourself the gift of time to grieve, however long it takes to soften the loss. Grief doesn’t abide by a timeline. It was clear to me that you and Donna were a real team, each professionals in your own right and together through the ups and downs that long lived marriages inevitably bring. I fondly remember your kindness inquiring about Betty as she dealt with her episodes of cancer. We share the experience of being a loving caregiver for a spouse who ultimately lost her battle with cancer. I keep you in my thoughts. John

Dearest Tom, I so wish there were words to make it all better. Please know that my heart hurts for you, and I grieve with you. What treasured memories of your family coming each year up to Canada and all the unwavering guidance, support and mentorship you provided during my four years at MMU. Spending time with JJ and Bill during your out-of-town trips was so special. These beautiful moments with you four will stay with me always. Sending so much love and peace to you, Bill and family.

Loras College Communication faculty past and present send their deepest condolences, Tom, on your loss of Donna. There is nobody left in the Dept that taught with Donna, or called you their student, but Professor Rex Reynolds would often speak of both of you in glowing terms. We knew you both through him and others in the old guard of Loras who were so proud of you becoming President of Mt Mercy and Donna starting her own communication consulting company. They spoke often of you two being the golden couple. Professors like Rex that four of us Communication majors shared and later taught together as Loras colleagues continue to value the two of you for your excellent teaching and leadership. It is those threads that bind us together as we offer our sympathy to fellow Duhawks.
