My friendship with Pat “Patti Sue” began during our employment at Iowa National Mutual Insurance Company and continued throughout the years in various ways: luncheons with friends away from home (no cooking involved), participation in our Red Hat Flippers group of friends, “fireside” gatherings at her apartment and frequent phone chats. Patti Sue’s optimistic outlook in her life was remarkable despite her inability to see clearly due to her failing eyesight. I had great admiration for her positive attitude and her ability to recall details. She was a true friend and will certainly be missed. Rest in peace, Patti Sue. Pat and I grew up together in Tipton, Iowa but have stayed in touch over the years - lately by bi-weekly phone calls. I said one time that I get depressed, and she said Oh I never do. How great to have that attitude. Love you Pat. Will miss you.
