Marc Steven Wharton, Age 67, passed away at his home in Cedar Rapids, IA on Wednesday February 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial visitation will be offered at the Cedar Valley Bible Church, 3636 Cottage Grove Avenue, SE on Monday, February 27, 2023, from 2 PM until service time at 3 PM with Pastor Joel DeSousa officiating. 

Marc was born on October 11, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was the son of the late Warren and Lois (Culver) Wharton. On March 29, 1980, Marc married the love of his life, Ann Parker in Cedar Rapids. Marc worked for many years as an operator at Penford. Marc’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his children and his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Marc’s memory is his wife Ann, of Cedar Rapids, IA; his children, Brian (Jill) Wharton of Melbourne, FL, Rachel Wharton of Cedar Rapids, IA, and daughter, Hether Stauffacher, of Cedar Rapids, IA ; his grandchildren, Tyler, Kaylee Wharton, and Omari Ware; a sister, Gretchen (Jeff) Humiston, of Marion; and nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Ruby.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Dogs Forever, and or His Hands Free Clinic.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Compassus Hospice for the love and support, they showed Marc while he was in their care.
