Lila Jean Schultz, 92, of Hiawatha passed away December 11, 2023. Memorial Service: 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Private Inurnment: Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Visitation: 9 - 10 AM, on Thursday December 21 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. 

Lila was born on March 26, 1931, St. Paul, Nebraska, the daughter of Aden A. and Leatha (Tuttle) Gibson. She was united in marriage to James Schultz on December 3, 1950, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She worked at an insurance clerk first at the Marshalltown Hospital and later at Mercy and St. Luke’s Hospitals in Cedar Rapids. When her boys were growing up, Lila made sure that they went to church and Sunday School. Later, she was a member of Echo Hill Presbyterian Church. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons David and wife Tryeann of Tipton, Gary and wife Nancy of Augusta, WI, and John of Marion, nine grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband James in 2000, sister Dorothy Horton, and brother Rollie Gibson.
