Jolene R. Kirkpatrick, 74, of Yates Center, KS, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away after a brief illness at Chanute Hospital, Chanute, KS, on December 14, 2023.
Services 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, IA, where visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. The service will be presided by William Kirkpatrick.
Jolene was born December 8, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Glen and Helen Gable Mann. She was involved in Campus Life while attending Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from a Christian High School; Washington Springs Academy, South Dakota in 1968. She studied for a brief time at Greenville University in Greenville, IL.
She was married to Charles Kirkpatrick III on December 20, 1974, until his passing on July 28, 2009. Her career served the special needs of individuals for many years at Options of Linn County Cedar Rapids until her retirement in 2009. She continued to volunteer assisting the disabled in her community in many ways.
Some of Jolene’s favorite things to do included reading, sharing time with family and grandchildren, the disabled and church activities. She lived and loved her walk with Jesus. And took time to share her faith and the love Christ had for them.
Jolene is survived by her daughter Amy Kirkpatrick of Cedar Rapids; Sons, Charles “Kirk” Kirkpatrick IV, Scott (Allison) Kirkpatrick of Yates Center, KS, and David (Leslie) Kirkpatrick of Brooklyn, IA; Nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Tyler, David, Heidi, Noah, Scotty, Charlee, Khloey, and Kade Kirkpatrick; Five Great Grandchildren; brother, G. Robert “Bob” (Carolyn) Mann of Metanora, IL; sister, Sheryl (Tim) Stanley of Marion, IA. Her brother- in-laws, David (Kathy) Kirkpatrick of Milwaukee, WI, William (Marjory) Kirkpatrick of Cedar Rapids; Sister-in-law, Ellen (Steven) Amsden of Independence, IA; and many nieces and nephews. Her brothers and sisters in Christ along with fellow colleagues at Options of Linn County and the disabled.
The pain of separation from her late husband Chuck is now over being united with him and her family while in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her laughter we can still hear.
