Glenn Earnest Wallace, age 94, peacefully departed this world on Monday, December 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. A Remembrance Gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

 

Glenn was born on May 30, 1929, in Sioux City, IA, to the late Glenn O. and Margaret A. Wallace. A proud Korean Conflict Veteran, he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. On May 4, 1985, Glenn entered into matrimony with Cherie Ernst in Cedar Rapids. He dedicated years of service as a machinist at Rockwell Collins, retiring with a legacy of hard work and dedication.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cherie, his daughter Sheryl Lynn Wallace, his son Dale Wallace (Debra), step-son Bret Gothe (Jeff Conrad), and a sister, Margaret Turner.

Glenn was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Brent Wallace, stepdaughter Lorilynne Pantini as well as his parents, a sister Margery Yanecek, and a brother, Robert. 

 

The family kindly requests that memorials be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society. His love, gentle humor and easy-going joy for life will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
