I will miss my dear friend deeply. Gerry and Joanie were two if the best friends we have had in our lives. Gerry and Joanie taught me so many things as I was growing up. I remember spending time with them in Ca. And Ia. When we lived in Vegas we would go to Mesquite to go to the spa and gamble with Joanie and watch her tap Joanie was such a force of life. I think every life she touched felt blessed to have known her as a friend.
I will miss my dear beloved friend.

I wish to send my sincere condolences to the family of Joanie. I was a Marion High School classmate of Jerry and also knew Joanie. What a great couple.

So sorry to hear the passing of Joanie. At family gatherings I remember the stories she would tell of her adventures. She would make me laugh and smile as I thought what a crazy lady. She did the things she loved doing and lived life to the fullest. I’m sure the stories will last for many years. Enjoy and keep the memories dear to your heart.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Joanie was the Office Manager at Discovery (Village) Living, Inc. in the early 1980s. What a great hire she was. She believed in our mission, was smart & capable, showed compassion, and knew how to organize the financial aspects of a new non-profit organization. She was just what we needed. I enjoyed the few years we worked together, but knew Jerry needed her more as his business was growing rapidly. Joanie helped Discovery Living get off on the right foot. Today, 42 years later, it has grown to become the premier organization serving adults with developmental disabilities in eastern Iowa. Thanks, Joanie, for all you contributed to our early success. Now rest in peace--well done good & faithful servant of the Lord.

I only knew Joanie for a little over a year but grew to love her. She always had stories to tell and really made me feel part of her family. I loved making her laugh when she was having a bad day and will always remember our lunches out, especially the Roaring 20s event that we went to with Laura; she looked forward to it for weeks and had such a good time. I miss her
