Jim and I knew Gladys and Junior thru square dancing. We danced with them not long after we took square dance lessons back in the 80s. We always enjoyed having them in our square. We were happy for Gladys when she began dancing with Chester and later Carl. Square dancing was a big part of her life and she always enjoyed it. She was always working on a new craft project, she was a very talented lady. We feel very privileged to have known Gladys and been able to dance with her. Our sympathies to her family. Dear Gladys, you were so missed when you moved from the neighborhood. Everyone adored you and loved helping you out in anyway we could. I usually dread the unexpected doorbell ring but was always excited to see when it was you, often with cookies in hand. While we haven't seen you in awhile, we thought about you often, including up to the night before your passing. Tim and I were riding in our car and and Tim said, 'wonder how Gladys is doing." Unbelievable the next day we hear of your passing. I didn't realize until reading your obituary that me and Tim share the same anniversary date as you and Jr. I consider this a sign of strength for our marriage as you and Jr. were special to us. May you rest in peace and special condolences to Marilyn and Dan. Martens Family
