Robert Allsop

Born in Beloit, WI
Born on Sep 29, 1929
Departed on Sep 17, 2022

I have found memories of Bob and enjoyed working with both he and Beth during my time at both the Boy Scouts of America and Indian Creek Nature Center. Bob was a strong believer in the community and represented this through how he lived his life. I am grateful to have known Bob and for the time I spent learning from him. His and Beth's incredible generosity will continue to benefit many for generations to come. My condolences to his entire family.

I learned of Bob’s death while traveling and am so saddened. Bob and Beth have made ours a better world and I appreciate them. Rich Patterson

I was sorry to learn of Bob's passing this morning. Beth, you and your family have my deepest sympathies. Bob and Beth were great neighbors across the street from my parents, Carl and Vara Bowman. Many good memories on E Avenue and 23rd Street NE!! Bob was truly a wonderful man and I know he will be terribly missed by you all. Kris (Bowman) Best

Bob Allsop was my friend and a fellow Rotarian. Like me, he was a loyal Hawkeye fan. Bob understood the concept of paying his civic rent. We were both residents of Cottage Grove Place. He and Beth were good residents who did their best to improve the quality of life there. I join with his family in celebrating his life. He made a positive difference. God's blessings on you all. Beth, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to you and your family on your loss of Bob. We knew him as a man of fine character, a friend, a neighbor, and a Hawkeye fan. As time passes, may your memories of him help bring you enduring peace and comfort. With kindest regards, Mike and Deb Lawrence

I would like to express my most sincere condolences to Beth, her sons and their families at the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather! My family knew and loved the Allsop family for the past 66 years, as we too were neighbors back in Cedar Rapids while we lived on E Avenue. Our parents stayed close with Beth and Bob throughout their lives and many moves to various parts of the the country. Over the last six decades, my sisters, brother and I have also stayed in touch with their sons and their families. I believe this is a credit to the type of role model Bob was for everyone who knew him. It was clear that family friends and community were of primary importance to Bob and where he chose to dedicate his time, talents and treasures. His passing is a huge loss to all who loved him, but our memories and his legacy will live on to touch many generations to come. With my deepest sympathy and warmest regards, Donna (Kelling) Sorensen

Beth, Rick, Steve and Jeff – I am so sorry for your loss. As a “Kelling” – I cannot remember a time when the Allsop Family was not in our lives. Bob was a loyal friend – and we are all better for having the opportunity to have known him. I envisioned him being met at the “pearly gates” with a martini (including the large olives) by Ed, Verne, Terri, Bob, Betty, Hal and Peg to begin sharing the stories and hearing him laugh. May you and the rest of your family find some comfort and peace recalling the memories you know they are sharing. Rondi

Steve and Family, I want to extend my thoughts and prayers to you and your family on the loss of your Dad. He certainly was an exceptional person who contributed to this community in so many ways. I have appreciated my relationship with you over the years and trust your memories of him will bring you comfort and even joy in the midst of your loss, Sincerely Gene Turner Family Gene, Tim, Terry & Tammy

I've long admired Mr. Allsop's (and family) contributions in our communities. The contributions to Boy Scouts of America has benefited generations of youth. While I'm so sorry to hear of his death, what a life well lived. We hope many happy memories bring you comfort.

Dear Beth, Steve and family, We are so very sorry to learn Bob has passed away. He was a gentle soul and he had a wonderful positive enthusiasm for his family, friends, community and Hawkeyes. Marty and I have wonderful memories of our encounters with Bob and the family. We hope your faith, family, friends and good memories will sustain you at this time. We send our deepest sympathy.
