Roger Keith Scott passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 26, 2022.
Per his wishes, he has been cremated. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, for friends and family to share stories and pay their respects. A celebration of life is scheduled to happen in the spring.
Roger is survived by 3 brothers: Kenneth, Larry, and Steven Scott; his daughter, Karen Klostermann; 3 grandsons, Corey (Dee) Scott, Kevin and Jacob Klostermann; 4 granddaughters, Brittany, Katelyn, Brianna and Samantha Klostermann; a great granddaughter, River Scott and former son-in-law, Todd Klostermann. As well as a niece Sherry Surrett; a great niece, Justice Surrett; and 2 great nephews, Booker Scott, and Austin Surrett.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Ruth (Mayer) Scott; his son, Ricky A Scott; and a niece, Stacey Scott.
Roger was born April 27,1949 and grew up in the Troy Mills area. He spent his career as a truck driver for garbage disposal companies in the Cedar Rapids area. He loved the small town living of Palo where he resided for almost 40 years. Roger was a friendly and outgoing man who never met a stranger. He could often be found at the Palo’s Mini Mart socializing. In his free time, he enjoyed taking trips to Tama for some gambling.
