Memorial

Betty L. Kelly, 94, of Iowa City passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Per the family’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date. 
 
Betty was born in 1927, to John and Alta (Rossiter) Nolting in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Iowa State University where she received her bachelor's degree in Textile Science and Applied Design. She then went to the University of Iowa where she received her master’s degree and her PhD. She married William Kelly, and together they had four children. Betty was a professor at the University of Iowa for eleven years then at Kirkwood Community College up until her retirement in 2000. She lived a very active life and was a member of numerous organizations.
 
She is survived by her three loving children, Katherine Kelly, Kevin (Madonna) Kelly, Dr. Kristopher (Mary) Kelly; four grandchildren, Charlie (Michelle) Kelly, Benjamin Kelly, Snezhall (DJ) Missell, and Melissa (Randy) Foliente; great grandchildren Siona, Eero, Eris and Syrikit. 
 
Betty is proceeded in death by her loving husband, her son Keenan Kelly, and her parents.
