Llewellyn “Bernie” Bernell Reid, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022. 

Bernie was born on August 27, 1929 in Monticello, to John and Catherine (Stahlberg) Reid. Bernie was united in marriage to Jean Minehart on July 8, 1950. He served in the Army during the Korean War. 

Bernie was a mechanic and an avid motorcyclist. He was a jack of all trade who could fix anything. He enjoyed woodworking, metalworking, boating and camping with his family. Family always came first to him. 

Bernie is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jean Reid; children, Scott Reid and Katherine (Angelo) Carrillo; grandchildren, Dennis Reid, Daniel Reid, Brian (Bobbi) Carrillo, Breana Carrillo-Klein, Ryan (Gretchen) Reid, and Leslie (JD) Henter; and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Reid; and brothers, Myron Reid and John Reid. 

Per Bernie’s wishes, no funeral service will be held at this time.
