TR— I’m sorry that you won’t see your kids grow up. That you got your family and they couldn’t keep you. I’m so sorry for Katie. Can’t imagine how it was to live with you, just sayin’ ?? but I expect there was a lot of joy and stress like my own marriage. The good and bad all part of the magic of life. The loss of you is so very sad. I’ll miss your texts and the memes and GIFs. They lightened the day. I’ll think of you often. I promise. L

Rest in peace Dr.Rhodes. You were an inspiration for every budding EP cardiologist. Will cherish every moment I worked with you as a general cardiology fellow and your career advice with your characteristic sense of humor during my interview season few months ago. May your soul rest in peace.

I was so very sad to read this, Dr Rhodes was my EP cardiologist he had a special place in my “heart”. He always explained things to me and made sure he never left me without me understanding what I was going through. He would draw me a picture, I was one of his last patients he seen before he moved for Wisconsin. He was one of the drs who called me a unique case, he started out only getting one wire in my pacemaker, bound and determined to help me he called Boston Scientific and ordered some equipment he had never used before and he was successful got the 2 wires in that he wanted.. that I needed. I will always remember him he cared about me/us. I want you to know you had a special man in your life as well as I did and my thoughts are with all of you at this very difficult time. RIP Dr Rhodes you are gone way too soon and will never be forgotten.

Never went wrong path typo

I was shocked to hear about Dr. Rhodes. He was my Dad’s doctor & ended up being mine last October. He even stopped me in the hall to ask how I was doing. And he would talk to me and check my pulse. Very nice and considerate man. I’m so sorry for his family.

I along with Michael Jilcott grew up with Troy attending church on Sundays and went to the same high school. I haven’t talked to Troy in many years. He was always respectful and friendly. He will be missed. Sending prayers to his family and other friends. RIP my friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Troy’s passing. I graduated high school with Troy and would occasionally bump into him at Old Dominion University. I will always remember him as being a very friendly, and very smart person. My condolences to his wife, kids and extended family.

To Troy’s family, please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I am one of many many patients whose life was improved by his skill and caring. He personally answered several emails about my procedure within hours of sending them. It instantly established trust and rapport that I never questioned before, during, and after my procedure. To his children, please know your father truly made a difference in so many lives, and I, for one, have lived a fuller and healthier life because of him.

I greatly admired Troy for his excellent patient care, dedication, intelligence, and work ethic. He made a positive impact on so many patients’ lives and did a tremendous amount of good with his clinical talent. I didn't know him outside of work but enjoyed recently seeing the pictures of him in more relaxed settings. I will miss him and I’m sure his many grateful patients will too.

Shocked and tears are what I felt as I read about Dr. Rhodes passing. He was a gentle man with a warm personality, and of course a great physician. I thank him for his medical work on my heart and he will be missed. His smile was always there and one was confident they were in good hands medically, now he is in God's hands. It will take a bit of time to actually take this sad news in, Dr. Rhodes vitality and personality will be missed by all.

I just found out about Troy's passing today (3-14-23). I knew he left Iowa City, but I felt compelled to find out where he went when a co-worker asked me who performed my procedure. After a google search, I found that he had passed away. I am so sad. The world has lost an amazing person. As a patient, I can say I really appreciated his humor. He made me feel so comfortable during my first visit. So much so, that I even agreed to have my procedure on Friday the 13th in Aug of 2021! He called me to see how I was doing and when I was to return for a check-up 1 year later, that is when I found out he was no longer in Iowa City. I was sad he left, but happy for him at the same time because I knew he had a lot to share. I will always remember him, because he was just such a nice guy! Please accept my belated deepest sympathy to his wife, children, family, friends, colleagues and fellow patients. RIP Dr. Rhodes.
