Memorial

Kenneth William Hines, 91, of Marion, Iowa passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at home. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A funeral service will start at 3:00 PM following the visitation, with burial following in the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Kenneth was born on April 18, 1930, to Byron and Selma (Johnson) Hines in Dubuque, Iowa. He enlisted into the United States Navy. After he returned home, he married the love of his life Rita Mathis on February 5, 1958. He worked over twenty years as a machine operator at Swiss Valley. In his free time, Kenneth enjoyed playing pool and going to garage sales where he appreciated a good sale. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends.  

He is survived by his son, Douglas Hines; grandson, Kenny (Krystle) Dombrowski; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Allysia, Lodis, Klover, Kenny Jr, and Jaspar; sister, Rose Bridgewater, and nephew Roger Weig.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his loving wife; his parents; his daughter, Dianne Hines; and his siblings Bernita Hines-Weig, and Evelyn Hines.
