Memorial

After a long battle with numerous health conditions, Paul Adam Just passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.  

Paul was born on December 30, 1942, the eldest of five children of Pauline and Adam Just in Hazelton, North Dakota. Paul met his future wife, Alvina Zimmerman, in North Dakota and they were married on February 8, 1963, in Glen Ullin, North Dakota. They spent their early married life in Mandan, North Dakota where Sherry and Scott were born. In 1970 they moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa where Brad was born. After owning a service station for a number of years, Paul became a distributor for Interstate Batteries and supplied batteries throughout eastern Iowa for the remainder of his career. Paul and Alvina enjoyed cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes, attending football games, and tailgating in their RV. After 25 years of business, they sold their Interstate Battery distributorship and briefly enjoyed retired life together in Surprise, Arizona before Alvina passed away in 1999.  

In addition to his wife, Paul was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving Paul are his siblings, Ralph (Kathy), Ron (Susan), Lila (Gary) and Eugene; his children, Sherry, Scott (Debbie), and Brad (Patti); and his granddaughters, Chloe (Tom), Carissa (Alex), Hailey and Lexie. Paul is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, 1:00-2:00pm, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00pm. Inurnment at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed under the video tab starting at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
