Don Stickle

Born in Shellsburg, IA
Departed on Dec 20, 2022

I am sorry for your loss. Assigned to the "Stickle" insurance file for many years, I was always amazed that both Don and Janet could recall every item of their business; whether a truck or semi rig or a certain bull. We all have lost a gifted business man.

Rick, Marsha, and family - So sorry to hear about your loss. Rick, I remember meeting your dad years ago at your house. No doubt he and Dave have already had a big conversation up there. Thoughts & prayers to you.

To Don's family my deepest sympathy. I so enjoyed Don and Janet and my time working for Stickle Farms and learning about all of the various companies that Don was able to create. I think you did a wonderful job of telling how he evolved into the businessman he became. Don also was very considerate I remember that when my father died he took the time to come to my Dad's visitation on his way home from a cattle buying trip. May your memories help you in the days ahead. Nancy Davis

Don will be remembered as a larger than life Agri businessman and cattle man.. I always enjoyed our conversations and trips to Bluff Lake for fish. He touched many in his long life. So long Don........

Rick and Marsha, So very sorry to hear about your dad, Rick. I know he appreciated everything you both did for him. Sending prayers your way.

Old man Don was one of a kind. My condolences on your loss.

My deepest sympathy to Don's family. I feel like it was just yesterday Holly and I were running around Don's office with My Pretty Ponies, and coloring in his business check book. I know as a matriarch and business man he valued sharing his knowledge with the next generation. His voice was one you couldn't mistake in a crowd. I even remember going to the feed lot and getting handed some candy... or a milk crate full. Although I wasn't involved much on the business side, there are memories I will carry with me fondly. Wishing you all peace in your hearts during this difficult time!

Don is my cousin. We had numerous wonderful reunions. In later years health and distance made it more difficult. One year Don drove to Florida to meet. In recent years I expressed the belief that Don preferred always being active. He showed a great love of life, and physical activity added to his years of life. He was always looking for new business opportunities. Hard work and good sales ability usually then led to success. He was a giving man providing guidance by example. He made considerable money, but still maintained a simple farm centered life style. He was a responsible and conservative investor and expected similar from his associates. He was proud of and rewarded his many employees. A loving goodbye to Don!

One of my favorite things to do my whole life was to visit cousin Don on the farm. He and his family were always kind to their visitors from Colorado and gave us tours of his place and were so welcoming. I would like to express my loving sympathy to his family.
