Sally Jo (Reitz) McGarrahan, Age 84, of Robins, IA passed away at the Emery Place in Robins, IA.

A Celebration of Life will be offered at the New Covenant Bible Church, 3090 N. Center Point Road, Cedar Rapids, on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 2 PM with the Pastor Bob Westfall officiating. Inurnment to follow at the Cedar Memorial-Corridor of Hope.

Sally was born on May 9, 1937 in Anamosa, IA. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel Bernice (James) Reitz. On December 31, 1957, Sally married Blaine Gibson. That marriage granted them two sons, Barry Gibson and Terry Gibson. On July 18, 1982 Sally married James Curtis McGarrahan. 

Those left to cherish Sally’s memory are her children, Barry Gibson of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Terry (Jan Masbarger) Gibson of Des Moines, IA; step-children Dawn (Eric) Wiebe of Palatine, IL and James McGarrahan (Larue Kimble) of Manassas, VA,  grandchildren, Alicia Gibson Rivera, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Blaine Gibson, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Grayson Gibson, of Denver, CO, Gina Gibson of Carroll, IA, and Garret Gibson, of Des Moines, IA , and Sam, Jack, and Sydney Wiebe, of Palatine, IL,; great-grandchildren, Roman Rivera and Eben Rivera. Sally was preceded in death by her husband Jim McGarrahan and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Emery Place for all the love and support they showed Sally while she was in their care.
