Robert Patrick Marovich, 78, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. A visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 PM on Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Peace Christian Reformed Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Robert “Sweet Old Bob” was born December 29, 1942, in Los Angeles, California to John and Dorothy (Bristow) Marovich. After he graduated from high school, he went on to California State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He married the love of his life Marilyn Hogan on April 11, 1964, in Bellflower, California. He faithfully served two years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He moved to Cedar Rapids in 1979, where he worked at Rockwell Collins. During his 38 years of service to Rockwell Collins he held many executive positions up until his retirement in 1998. 

He enjoyed traveling, golfing, reading, and absolutely cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Robert found joy in mentoring others, and spending time with his friends and family. He was a great friend and will truly be missed by everyone that knew him.

Robert is survived by his three daughters Kelly (Jason) Maschmann of St. Louis, Missouri, Karin (Michael) Ryan of Davenport, Iowa, and Kate (T.J.) Skattum of Elmhurst, Illinois; grandchildren Abby and Hannah Maschmann, Sadie, Aidan, and Holden Ryan, and Jane, Lucy, and Tommy Skattum; siblings John (Linda) Marovich of Arizona, Pat (Tom) Hause, Eleanor (John) Kellenberger, and Mary Lou Roe, all of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tommy, and his loving wife Mary Ann Marovich.
