Memorial

It is with great sadness we announce that Charles “Chuck” J. Snitker, 84, of Solon, Iowa passed away on September 29, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Per his wishes there will be no services. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. 

Chuck was born on February 28, 1937, in Waukon, Iowa. After he graduated from high school, he served four years in the United States Air Force. After he returned home, he worked with Plumbers and Pipe Fitting Industry as a member of the union Local 25 where gave fifty years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Lorraine Snitker, and his two brothers Jim and Allen. 

Chuck is survived by his wife of sixty-one years of marriage, Sharon and their four children Deb Shaw, Scott Snitker, Patty Henry, and Gregg Snitker: six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, along with his three siblings Kenny Snitker, Ronny Snitker, and Kay Ernst. 

To honor Chuck’s final wishes, the family has asked that memorials may be directed to the Solon Fire Department or Iowa City Hospice.
