Betty J.  Parmer, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.   A visitation will be held Friday September 17, 2021, 4-7pm, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.  Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include daughters Deb (Bob) Cumming, Cathi (Kels) Kelsey, Kim (Matt) Matias, and Loree Parmer, sons Ted Parmer and Phil Parmer. A brother, Bill Wright.  Eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, along with a very large extended family.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Earl, her parents, a great granddaughter, two brothers and three sisters.

Betty was born January 30th , 1936 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to parents Forrest and Mamie Wright. Mom was a great mentor for all who knew her.  She became a mom and grandma to many.  Betty retired from Rockwell Collins and developed many lifelong friends whom she enjoyed spending time with. She was a big women’s Iowa basketball fan. Betty and her special friend Zane went to all the home games. The one thing she always looked forward to every year was our family vacation to Gulf Shores Alabama.  She is going to be missed by all who knew and loved her.
