Lou enjoyed playing video games, playing cards, bargain hunting, listening to music, and travelling.  But Lou’s true passion was all the great times spent with his friends and family.  He was a member of Eastern Star – Malta Chapter #415, Crescent Lodge #25, and Trinity-St. James United Methodist Church.  He had a bigger than life personality. Meeting him was unforgettable. His face radiated friendly charm and his captivating laugh and smile when he greeted you. Lou was one of those people who could strike up a conversation with anyone, familiar or a stranger. He was a man who valued his family and friendships.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy and their two children, Julia Ball and Logan (Rachel) Ball all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his mother, Mary Grundmeier of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; siblings, Gregory (Shawna) Rogers of Troy, Missouri; Blake (Dee) Grundmeier of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Benjamin Grundmeier III of Logan, Iowa; Joyce Kipp of Colorado; Brian Grundmeier of Missouri; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
