Memorial
The battle between Sandy Mama Tate and her pancreatic cancer ended in a draw on November 3, 2021. Mama Tate died, but so did the cancer!
She would want you to remember:
• Don't be jerks to animals
• Whatever you do, don't feed bread to ducks
• Adopt don't shop
• If you see a new person to the LGBTQ Community who needs a hug, give them a Mama Tate hug
• Spoil your grandbabies (or hers)
• When your children move out, make your home a shrine to them with pictures of them everywhere
• Make friends wherever you go
• Do things that nourish your soul
She would also want you to make her famous pumpkin bread this time of year. Here is the recipe:
2 2/3 cups sugar
2/3 cup shortening
1 can of pure pumpkin
2/3 cup water
4 eggs
3 1/3 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp baking powder
Heat oven to 350
Grease bottoms only of 2 loaf pans.
Mix shortening & sugar. Stir in pumpkin, water & eggs. Mix in flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves & baking powder.
Pour into pans.
Bake 1 hour & 10 minutes.
She was preceded in death by her two front teeth and her gallbladder.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids or Wildthunder Wildlife & Animal Rehabilitation & Sanctuary.
We love you Mama Tate. The World!
