Memorial

Marilyn E. Gubbels, 81, passed away peacefully in Hiawatha May 26, 2021.  A visitation will be held on Friday June 4, 2021 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memoires at 10am with service immediately following at 11am.  A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Marilyn Gubbel, under the video tab starting at 11am on June 4, 2021.

Marilyn was born December 14, 1939 in Spencer, Iowa; the daughter of Clarence and Ruby Falline.  Marilyn was married to Donald Gubbels on January 23, 1960.  He later passed away in 1987.  Marilyn and Donald had 4 children, Marcia George, Clarence (Lynae), Michael (Bronna) , & Cheryl Rawson.  She taught a knitting class in Cedar Rapids for many years.  She was a home health aide for many years.  

She enjoyed knitting, spending time with family and friends, playing solitaire & card games with loved ones.  

She is survived by her 4 children; grandchildren, Joshua George, Miriaha (Matt) Lazarus, Donald (Savannah) Gubbels, Samuel Gubbels, Katrina Gubbels, Michelle Kirby, Rachelle (Jason) Gruis, Jared Rieflin, Amber (Nick) Gudenkauf, Blake Rawson, Haley (Wes) soon to be Johnson;  great grandchildren, Jordan George, Serena George, Jayden George, Dennis Gubbels, Lilly Krogmann, Leigha Gruis, Aubry and Nolan Gudenkauf, Macie Rawson, and Clayton Johnson and 2 sisters Karen (Millard) Hurd and Linda (Ron) Owen.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 2 brothers Lowell and Roger Falline, and a special friend Fuzzy.
