Memorial

Vincent Borong, 40, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021. A public funeral service will take place from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4150 Blue Jay Dr NE, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52402. 

Vince was born on July 18, 1980 in Pohnpei, Micronesia to Salter and Rita Borong. Vince was a longtime employee of Whirlpool Amana. Vince grew up back home in Kapingamarangi Atoll. After graduating from PICS High School Vince moved to the United States, living in Florida for a short time before settling in Iowa. Vince loved the ocean, fishing, volleyball, baseball, camping, swimming, and spending time with family and friends. Vince will be dearly missed by all of his loved ones, especially by his children whom he loved with all of his heart no matter whether they lived near or far.  

Vince is survived by his beloved Fiancé, Becky John; children, Nae’a, Be’au, Alex, Travis and Eva; Father, Salter Borong; Siblings, McCarthy Mataky, Selino (Sheila) Borong, Celeen Saick, Ben (Lickina) Borong, Douglas Porong, Hers (Toyoleen) Borong, Boyner Borong, Jayboy Tomoky, and Stephanie Tomoky; Adopted Siblings, Deinad (Marsela) Haduet, Shirleen George, Karita Ludwig, Nancy Fred, Dorishe Lowson, Bethwel Dickepa, Viseleen Ike; Promise Brothers and Sisters, Mosner (Juanita) William, Leeson Albert, Jun (Cathy) Awes, Mondaya (Herney) Edmond, and  Onkinio Lorenso. Vince is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as an abundance of friends. 

Vince was preceded in death by his Mother, Rita; and Adopted Parents, Ike and Meriah Kuadmus.
